Sir Cajetan Eberendu boosts Ikemba Umunwoha Unity Cup

…harps on Star to Star initiative of the IMSU Alumni

A notable member of Imo State University Alumni Association and Owerri Branch Manager Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc, Sir Cajetan Eberendu has thrown his support behind the Ikemba Umunwoha Unity cup, being organized by another member of Imo State University Alumni Association, Ikemba Eberechukwu Fortunate Uneze, Ph.D. Ikemba Uneze who is the Executive Director of Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria and Ikemba Umunwoha ófó ise had a fortnight ago performed the kick off of the Football competition which is geared towards harmonising the Umunwoha clan and harnessing the hidden talent of her youths.

Sir Cajetan Eberendu, a Knight of St. Mulumba, graced today’s match fixture involving Amakohia-Ubi and Orogwe, alongside his lovely wife, Lady Nkechi Amanze-Eberendu, who is the Chief Executive of Pleasant Kids School, Federal Housing Estate Umuguma, Owerri and member of IMSU Alumni, expressed satisfaction with the organization of the game, and the mobilization which had seen a capacity crowd grace each of the games,  from inception.

He therefore announced a donation of N50,000 cash reward for the highest goal scorer of the competition, saying that Imo State University Alumni Association has a policy thrust known as “Star to star” initiative, which enjoins graduates of Imo State University, Owerri to lend to to their colleagues from every walk of life through patronage and endorsement because, according to him, “you can’t outshine an Imo Star”.

Responding, the Chairman of the organizing committee of the Ikemba Umunwoha Unity Cup, Hon. Samson Ogbos, also an IMSU Alumni member from Ndegwu, Owerri West LGA expressed gratitude to Sit and Lady Eberendu for electing to identify with such a noble initiative and pledged to work harder with his team to ensure fair play and transparency until the final whistle of the last game.

Also present during the support pledge was Mr. Chiduziem Dube Uneze, who stated that such magnanimous support spurs men and women of goodwill to more for their people.

The game between Amakohia-Ubi and Orogwe ended with a lone goal Victory in favour of Amakohia-Ubi.
