After series of industrial strike and management dispute, the Imo State University Teaching Hospital (IMSUTH)graduated a set of medical practitioners on 6th of May 2021.
Prior to onboarding of the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, the management of the IMSUTH had been in dispute with the state government for series of issues bordering on mismanagement on the side of the then administration.
However, His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma upon first visit to the institution, assured the students and staff of his administration’s commitment towards resolving all lingering disputes and loggerheads in order to pave way for speedy graduation in record time.
The Governor moved into action by rejiggering the management of the institution, injected fresh blood with vibrancy. This turned around, for good, the system of administration in delivering on their responsibilities. Infrastructure wise was not left behind as the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma embarked on the reconstruction of the access road to the institution and other buildings within the institution.
These efforts and inputs from the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, yielded progress with graduation of the 12th Set of the institution and the joy propelled them for a thank you visit to His Excellency.
During their meeting with the Governor, a visibly elated Gov. Uzodimma informed the young Doctors of his plans and program towards better healthcare delivery for the state, including some partnerships he had gone into with donor agencies (local and international) which will yield fruit in due course, for the benefit of Imo people.
