The member representing Ehime-Mbano/ Ihitte-Uboma/ and Obowo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor, today, in his residence hosted his structural leaders in the Federal Constituency to a sumptuous breakfast meeting which spanned through lunch time.
Chief among the reasons for the meeting is to effectively lead his structure into the mainstream of the Governor Hope Uzodimma led All Progressives Congress in Imo State.
This meeting, the first in a series, is coming less than 10 days to the forthcoming Congresses and will afford the structural leaders the opportunity to prepare adequately for the Congress as well as to take advantage of the ongoing revalidation exercise to renew their membership of the party.
Speaking on the occasion, the two time House of Reps member, Hon. Chike Okafor did a recap of the circumstances that brought him into the support for Governor Hope Uzodimma, asserting that upon his victory at the supreme court, on 14 January, 2020, the leadership of Rescue Mission political family directed all their members to through their weight behind Governor Hope Uzodimma, a decision he has had no reason to regret adhering to.
He further stated that Okigwe South is a peculiar political Constituency, that is blessed with both a Federal cabinet minister, a Senator, a Reps member as well the highest ranking political appointee in the state, the Secretary to the Government of Imo State, and as such, is the epicenter of the APC in the entire Southeast.
Hon. Chike Okafor while assuring that his usual empowerment programme is in the offing, urged the structural heads to brace up for good times, as a result of their support for Governor Uzodimma.
Among those who were present at the meeting and spoke in affirmative to the directive of the upwardly mobile legislator include, Hon. Ifeanyi Onwueyiagba, Former Commissioner for Youths and Talent Development, Prince Chidi Nwoko, Former LGA Chairman, Obowo, Prince Daniel Chukwuocha, former Vice Chairman, Obowo, Hon. Kelechi Iwueze, former TC Chairman of Ehime-Mbano LGA and former APC Chairman in Ehime-Mbano LGA. Others include, Dr. Okechukwu Anukwem, 31 ward coordinators, as well as the
LGA coordinators of Deacon Chike Okafor Campaign organisation among others.
Hon. Chike Okafor stated, in his concluding remarks that the Federal Constituency will in like manner be adequately represented at the Stakeholders meeting slated for Saturday 24th July, 2021, by Gov. Hope Uzodimma.
