‘Money Na Water’, Cubana Chief Priest boasts after N10m bail
Nigerian businessman and socialite, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has boasted over his N10 million bail at the Federal High Court in Lagos, on Wednesday.
Cubana Chief Priest wrote on Instagram that “Money na water” after he was granted bail.
Vanguard earlier reported that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned Cubana Chief Priest over alleged abuse of naira.
The businessman was arraigned before Justice Kehinde Ogundare on three-count charges of spraying and tampering with the naira notes at an event at Eko Hotels, Lagos.
At the court, Mrs Bilikisu Buhari appeared for the prosecution while Mr Chikaosolu Ojukwu (SAN) appeared for Cubana Chief Priest.
The defendant’s counsel first informed the court of a preliminary objection challenging the court’s jurisdiction and also a bail application filed.
Ojukwu proceeded to inform the court that the prosecution was not opposed to the same.
After the charge was read to the socialite, he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
In moving the bail application of the defendant, the defendant’s lawyer urged the court to grant him bail on liberal terms.
He told the court that the defendant was admitted by the prosecution following his health condition, adding that due to his weight, the defendant was suffering from palpitation.
Subsequently, Justice Ogundare granted him a N10 million bail.
After leaving the court on bail, Cubana Chief Priest socialite took to his Instagram, to brag about the development,
“Seeing All You Messages & Love I’m So Humbled. Now It’s Confirmed CP No Small. Money Na Water,” he wrote.
