Former Governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has announced the departure of a new batch of constituents to the People’s Republic of China for postgraduate studies under fully funded scholarships facilitated by his office.

According to a terse statement issued through his official social media page, the latest beneficiaries include Dr. Kelechi Nwogu, who will be pursuing advanced medical studies at Southern Medical University in Guangzhou, and Uche Paul, who has been admitted to Tongji University in Shanghai.
Reaffirming his commitment to sustainable development through education, Senator Kalu emphasized that investing in human capital remains the most effective tool for empowering the youth and securing the socio-economic future of Abia North.
“Our investment in education and human capital development continues,” the Lawmaker stated, reiterating that providing young constituents with access to world-class tertiary institutions equips them with global expertise, practical technical skills, and innovative capacity needed to contribute meaningfully to regional and national growth.

The scholarship package, facilitated through strategic partnerships and international academic platforms, covers comprehensive academic and welfare provisions, allowing the scholars to focus entirely on their postgraduate research.
9japarrot reports that this milestone adds to a series of educational interventions spearheaded by Senator Kalu, through which several Abia North indigenes have been sponsored for advanced degree programs, specialized technical training, and international capacity-building initiatives across top global institutions.
