The people of Amaju Amaigbo in Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba federal constituency have praised the member representing them at the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo, for heeding to their call for help concerning the gully erosion menace that had become life and property threatening.
Speaking at the flag off ceremony which will lead to the commencement of work on the dilapidated section of the Amaju Amaigbo- Amauzari Road, the President General of Amaigbo Town Union, Sir Fine Madumere thanked the lawmaker who he described as dependable for coming to the rescue of the community.
He described how the erosion site had ended up demarcating the community as well as caused physical destruction to properties within the area.
The PG assured the lawmaker of the continued support of the community to his political ambition.
Speaking at the event, Rep. Ozurigbo expressed emotion on seeing the crowd that had come to witness the event a sign of how important the project is.
“I think I am now more emotional than I was when I first visited this place. Seeing the multitude of people here shows the impact this project will have once completed.” Ozurigbo stated.
The lawmaker informed that his intention to be in politics has never been to enrich his pocket but to enrich the people by ensuring that their rights are not trampled upon, a feat he is achieving through the various projects and empowerment schemes he has onload in the constituency.
The high point of the event was the visit to the site and the traditional pouring of libation carried out by Chief Laz Osuala.
Present at the event were political egg heads from different divides, community leaders, youth leaders and women leaders.
Recall that Hon. Ozurigbo had earlier visited the 100feet deep gully and promised to do his very best to ensure the menace is checkmate.
