In fulfillment of an agreed memorandum, the Imo State Government through the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC), has released the counterpart fund of N114million for the Projects by WATERSMITH PETROMAN LTD in some Oil Producing Communities of the State.
Prior to the release, the critical Stakeholders from all the affected Communities held series of meetings where it was resolved that the Money should be channelled to other Projects that will help in alleviating the sufferings of the People since some other Oil Companies Operating in the areas have taken over the Electrification of the Communities.
Part of the projects includes the provision of adequate security of lives and properties in the area and to this, security check posts, operational vehicles and other necessities to facilitate an improved security network in these areas.
HRH Eze Emmanuel Assor, the Eze of Assa Autonomous Community who handed the Patrol Vehicles over to the Imo State Police Commissioner through the DPO Ohaji, thanked the Executive Governor of Imo State, Sanetor Hope Uzodinma, for releasing the Money and assured the Governor of the total support of Ohaji People.
Recall that the Managing Director / CEO, Chief Charles Orie had last week reiterated that ISOPADEC will no longer be a cash cow for few individuals as the Commission is poised to put in place legacy projects for the good of all as mandated by His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma.
It is Worthy to note that all the Contractors executing all the Projects which the WaterSmith Money are being used for, are indigenous Contractors from the Communities where the Projects are sited and were all nominated by the Community Stakeholders.
GOVERNOR HOPE UZODIMMA’S DEVOTION TO HEALTHCARE SERVICES FOR IMOLITES
With a total landmass of 5,530km² and a population of over 5,000,000, a major challenge facing the good people of Imo State would be accessible and affordable healthcare services especially at the remote rural areas.
During his review of the infrastructural deficits bedeviling the State upon resumption of Office, His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma expressed dismay at the deplorable condition of the few available Healthcare facilities across the State.
To ameliorate the difficulties experienced in accessing quality and affordable healthcare services, Governor launched the Mobile Clinic and immediately renovated few State Hospitals to immediately contain the global pandemic the surfaced then.
In fulfillment of his devotion, His Excellency has recently approved the renovation and equipping of 305 Healthcare Centers, implying one per every ward in the State. What’s most amazing about this developmental move by His Excellency, is the projected completion of these facilities before the yuletide season.
His Excellency has shown sufficient commitment in the provision of accessible and affordable healthcare services to the people of Imo State and in complement to this, his mandate to ISOPADEC has seen the construction of over 15 Healthcare Centers across three member Local Government Areas, in the first instance.
Our continued support to the 3R Government remains the catalyst to the development of our dear Imo State.
