RESOLUTION OF IHITTE – UBOMA LEADERS AND STAKEHOLDERS AS THEY UNANIMOUSLY ENDORSE DEACON CHIKE OKAFOR FOR ANOTHER TERM OF OFFICE ON SUNDAY , 17TH JULY , 2022
On Sunday , July 17 , 2022 , critical Stakeholders and Leaders of Ihitte – Uboma drawn from the ten ( 10 ) INEC wards and twenty – two Autonomous Communities converged on the Okatta Ihitte – Uboma country home of a foremost political and community leader Hon . Chief Mark Uchendu across political party , religious and community divide to interact with a high powered delegation of Obowo Leaders led by Dr. Anosike former Commissioner for Health , Imo State and their brother Deacon Chike Okafor , whereby Ihitte – Uboma Leaders & Stakeholders formally endorsed him for another term of office at the Federal House of Representatives Abuja against 2023 general election and at the same time , demanded for a reassurance for reciprocity from Deacon Chike Okafor that he and Obowo people should in return support someone from Ihitte – Uboma to succeed him at the Federal Parliament on completion of his aspired renewed tenure which begins in 2023 and expires 2027 .

We most humbly welcome all of us to this August gathering .
It is our pleasure and most gratifying to have you in our midst , a great son of Okigwe – South Federal Constituency who through the instrumentality of God’s providence was some time ago elected to represent all of us at the Green Chambers of the National Assembly , Rt . Hon . Deacon Chike Okafor .
Lets recall that since the election of Rt . Hon . Okafor in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly , he has been consistently consistent in not only providing us with quality representation but has in no small measure bombarded many communities in Okigwe – South with evidential democracy dividends that he has not only etched his name in the annals of the history of this country but in the hearts of many of his Constituents. Though this is not surprising considering his antecedents but we are happy that no one would disagree that our Constituency now stands out as a place to find charity , most in demand , most sought after and applauded anytime good and effective representation is mentioned . This notwithstanding , that some constituents may comprise victims of the BELL SYNDROME which do facilitate a great chasm in relationship than already exist.

Today , we have gathered to thank you for effective representation which has etched our name in the great walls of this country .
For want of time considering your very busy schedule , we may not be able to itemize all those laudable achievements ; suffice it to say that some of them are hereby under listed . This is in tandem with what you were once quoted to have said that the essence of holding political office , either elective or appointed is to use it as a channel to bring the dividend of good governance to the immediate constituency .
You have as a result used this office fully well , having financially supported the payment of WAEC and JAMB fees of many students , drawn from various Secondary Schools in Ihitte – Uboma . You stepped it up also by paying school fees for many undergraduates from various Institutions of higher learning .
It is on record that you have constructed and reconstructed many Primary and Secondary Schools in Ihitte – Uboma , sponsored law students to the Nigeria Law School , sponsored some students to study in Ukraine , Canada , USA , UK , Turkey .
You have made available financial grants to widows , market women and craftsmen . You have purchased and distributed some Toyota vehicles , motor bikes to many sons and daughters of Ihitte – Uboma .
In fact , the ones that brought tears in the eyes of many was your decision to build houses for indigent women and widows . We remain eternally grateful . This is not forgetting your largely yearly comprehensive free medical outreach and many more to your credit .
Our dear Rt . Honourable , you have done well . But who is that patriot who will see his Constituency standing still and feels proud to adore it . You never did , you took a decision . Decision making is a process where a choice is made between several possible alternatives . If there are no alternatives , there can be no decision .
Decisions usually produce a pattern according to which scarce resources are allocated . We thank you for taking decision when it mattered most .
We however must let you know that we have and continued to make concerted efforts to change the perception of some of our people intent on rekindling agitation against your very good intentions . The naysayers to your proposal are obviously predictable . Entering into a phase of serial skirmishes will certainly not help us . We are concerned about our plans to flush out disagreements targeted towards robbing us better chances in the future .
We are fully not unaware of your plan to go for a third term . We believe strongly too that if by God’s grace , you succeed , we look forward to sharing from its numerous benefits which informed our decisions to support you especially considering your track records .
The Leaders and Stakeholders however want your serious commitment and assurance that if the people of Ihitte – Uboma will go all out to support you in various guises for you to emerge victorious , that we will not be left out of its benefits .
Again , we want you to fully reassure us that at the expiration of this third term expected to commence in 2023 , you will employ all within your powers to fully support any Ihitte – Uboma son , qualified in character and learning who wished to vie for House of Representatives to replace you . We have no doubt that we will have agitations from various quarters but we will use your various performances as benchmark to make you pull through .
We thank everyone and wish you safe journey as you go back to your place . Long Live Federal Republic of Nigeria ! Long Live Imo State !! Long Live Okigwe – South Federal Constituency !!! Long Live Ihitte – Uboma State Constituency !!!!
