No Vacancy In Imo Government House, Says Chike Okafor

LEADS CAMPAIGN FOR UZODIMMA’S REELECTION WITH A MOTION HE MOVED IN IMO APC STAKEHOLDERS MEETING

The clamour for reelection of the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma took a practical dimension on Wednesday, 12 April, 2023 at a well attended APC stakeholders meeting held at the ruling All Progressives Congress State party Secretariat, Owerri where the consensus Candidature of the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma in the upcoming November 11,2023 gubernatorial election was unanimously adopted by Stakeholders following a motion moved by the cerebral and performing federal Lawmaker representing Okigwe South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Abuja, Rt Hon Deacon Chike John Okafor. In his motion, the ranking federal parliamentarian submitted that the Governor has performed so marvelously and creditably having engineered and actualized far reaching developmental projects within his short stay in office despite enormous challenges confronting the state, especially the politically contrived insecurity that has been rearing its ugly head since the inception of the 3R Shared Prosperity government as well as the COVID 19 pandemic distraction and maintained that reelecting the Governor is in the best interest of the state.

According to Rt Hon Deacon Chike Okafor, the people of Imo State had never in the past witnessed the type of unprecedented transformation going on in the State under Governor Uzodimma and disclosed that the people of Imo State would want continuity and consolidation of the giant strides of the Uzodimma led administration and that given the wise and prompt decision of the people in that regard and their preparedness to vote massively for the Governor’s reelection, the ranking federal parliamentarian declared that the Imo State Government House is not vacant and advised those nursing gubernatorial ambition in the state to shelve the idea for now and wait for 2027 when the incumbent occupant of the Imo State Government House would have completed his second term of office.

Deacon Chike Okafor moved the historic motion during the well attended APC stakeholders meeting which attracted quality crowd of stakeholders in attendance, including the State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, his Deputy, Prof Placid Njoku, Hon Commissioners, Special Advisers and other members of the expanded Exco of the Imo state government and local Government Area Sole Administrators. Others include, members of the State Executive Committee of the party, Local Government Area party Chairmen, Women leaders, Secretaries, Youth Leaders, Ward Chairmen, Members of the National and State Assembly, Members of the state and National Assembly elect, former Governor Ikedi Ohakim alongside other statutory leaders of the party such as Prince Lemmy Akakem, Chief Charles Amadi, Ambassador Greg Mbadiwe, Rtd General Sunday Chikwe, Chief Jerry Chukwueke, Rt Hon Ernest Ibejiakor, Chief Marcon Nlemigbo, Chief E. J. K Onyebuchi, Hon Dan Nwafor and host of others.

Meanwhile, the motion was sequel to deliberations by stakeholders present who spoke glowingly of the outstanding performance of the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma and the need for him to be reelected to continue with the good work he has started. In their separate speeches, the National Vice Chairman of the APC, Southeast, Dr Ijeomah Arodiogbu, the former Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Dr Ikedi Ohakim, elder statesman, Dr E.J.K Onyebuchi, General Sunday Chikwe (Rtd), former State Chairman of the party, Chief Marcelinus Nlemigbo and Hon Daniel Nwafor described the Governor as courageous, development driven, visionary, compassionate and illustrious in the service of the state.

Earlier in his speech, the State Chairman of the APC, Sir Macdonald Ebere Phd eulogized the Governor for transforming the State and making the party popular, attractive, vibrant, and united and assured the Governor of the continued support of the party to his God sent Administration.

The Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma in his remark, expressed satisfaction with the leadership of the party in the State and reassured of his commitment to quality service delivery to the good people of the state in line with the philosophy of the 3R Shared Prosperity mantra of his administration.
