Federal Polytechnic Nekede Set to Fast-Track Processing of Transcripts, Certificates and English Proficiency

Federal Polytechnic Nekede Introduces New Measures to Fast-Track Processing of Academic Transcripts, Certificates and English Proficiency

The Management of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, under the visionary leadership of the Rector, Dr. Mrs. Basilia Nkemdilim Igbokwe, has announced a decisive intervention aimed at eliminating delays in the processing and dispatch of Academic Transcripts, Certificates and English Proficiency documents.

The directive, contained in an official memo issued by the Office of the Rector on 26 June 2026, underscores the institution’s commitment to efficient service delivery and to supporting the academic and professional aspirations of its graduates.

According to the memo, Management has observed persistent delays in the processing of these critical academic documents and has consequently approved immediate measures to streamline and expedite the process.

With immediate effect, all applicants for Academic Transcripts, Certificates and English Proficiency are required to submit the following documents to the Secretary to the Rector:

  • A photocopy of the application.
  • A photocopy of the payment receipt(s).
  • Copies of other relevant documents earlier submitted to the Records and Statistics Department.

To ensure transparency and accountability, the Office of the Rector will maintain a comprehensive monitoring register to track every application submitted and periodically report outstanding cases to Management for prompt intervention.

The Rector further disclosed that the Polytechnic is actively pursuing the full digitalisation of the application process. Upon completion, applicants will benefit from online applications, electronic tracking of requests and faster service delivery, thereby significantly enhancing operational efficiency.

Management has also reiterated its zero-tolerance policy against any act capable of frustrating or sabotaging the implementation of the new measures. Staff members found deliberately obstructing applicants or impeding the processing of academic documents will face appropriate disciplinary sanctions.

The Polytechnic Community, particularly staff of the Records and Statistics Department, has therefore been enjoined to give maximum cooperation towards the successful implementation of the initiative in line with the institution’s vision of excellence, accountability and quality service delivery.

This proactive intervention reflects the unwavering commitment of the Rector-led administration to institutional reforms, improved administrative efficiency and enhanced service to students, alumni and other stakeholders.
