Gov. Hope Uzodimma Visits FUTO, Assures The VC On Recovery of Their Lands

IMO STATE GOVERNMENT RISES TO THE OCCASION OF STOPPING LAND GRABBING IN FUTO

RECOVERS ILLEGALLY ACQUIRED PROPERTIES OF FUTO FROM PAST GOVERNMENTS

His Excellency, Gov. Hope Uzodimma, was on a working visit at the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) to enforce peace and recovery of illegally acquired landed properties in the Federal Institution.

Gov. Uzodimma in his address stated that the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) is one of the best Universities in the Country, hence the restoration of her roadmap.

According to Governor Hope Uzodimma “our people need the medical School and teaching hospital sited in the university, therefore I am here to ensure that the land grabbing in the institution stops and also recover them for the development of our people “.

His Excellency accompanied his Deputy, Professor Placid Njoku, the GM, OCDA, Hon. Innocent Ikpamezie, and other Government appointees visited the sites forcefully taken from the institution and recovered for the siting of the Federal University of Technology Owerri Medical School and Teaching Hospital.

Speaking earlier the New Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mrs. Nnenna Oti in her welcome address said that all the institution wants is peace between the host communities which has been the major challenge of the institution in terms of land grabbing.

She commended the Governor for being the first Governor to visit the institution and his efforts in recovering their properties and restoring peace.

His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, on Wednesday visited Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) to enforce peace and to recover landed properties illegally taken from the citadel of learning by some individuals,which includes past administrations in Imo.

Uzodimma, disclosed that FUTO remains one of the best Universities in the Country, hence the restoration of her roadmap.

“Our people need the medical School and teaching hospital sited in the university, therefore I am here to ensure that the land grabbing in the institution stops and also recover them for the development of our people”.

FUTO Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mrs. Nnenna Oti, earlier said that the desire of the institution is for a lasting peace with the host communities over landed properties,while she commended the Governor for being the first Governor to visit the institution and his efforts in recovering their properties and restoring peace.
